The JASIC EVO ARC 160 PFC (EA-160) is the uprated version of the hugely popular Jasic PRO Arc series. Featuring a new large format display which is clear to see even from a distance, as well as a heavier duty more rugged shell and aggressive looks.
The EVO ARC series come with PFC as standard for increased energy efficiency. They are also auto voltage sensing and can be plugged into 110 or 230V supplies, including generators. Furthermore, the input tolerance of the Jasic EVO Arc is from 96V up to 265V meaning it will cope with being used on long extension leads where voltage drop may otherwise be an issue.
The new ClearVision technology combines a high definition led screen mounted at the optimum angle for improved visibility and increased viewing comfort. Additionally, the surprisingly lightweight structure makes this unit very portable. Switch with ease between MMA mode and Smart Lift TIG mode with one button press.
Supplied with a durable protective case and MMA lead set with twist type electrode holder.
Runs from 110 and 230V power supplies
As a result of extensive research and development the EVO Arc160 PFC (EA-160) Inverter Welder boasts a wide range of new features. Firstly, Intelligent Synergic Control allows for pre-programmed setting of electrode sizes for easy operation and setup. The unit includes a selection ability for electrode sizes.
Smart Lift TIG controls the short circuit current at the start consequently avoiding tungsten contamination. Furthermore, the system also identifies accidental short circuits to maintain welding. In addition, the arc length cut off feature eliminates arc wander.
A sleep function to save power kicks in when not the machine has not been in use to reduce energy consumption. A simple push of a button awakens the machine, ready for the next weld. A fan on demand maintains optimum working temperature by starting when required but stops when it is not required, again to decrease energy consumption and noise emissions.
With safety and efficiency in mind, the Jasic EVO Arc 160 PFC (EA-160) is fitted with a voltage reduction device (VRD) and works by lowering the open circuit voltage (OCV) to a safer level. Therefore reducing any potential dangers, since open circuit voltage is produced when a welding machine is switched on and could normally be hazardous by accidentally touching the welding holder or electrode.
Overcurrent and overheat protection is also inbuilt to ensure the machine does not cause damage to itself.
The EVO ARC has a very straightforward front panel.
From left to right you will first encounter a green button that allows you to switch between between MMA mode and Smart Lift TIG mode.
The second button along allows you to toggle between electrode sizes of 2.5mm, 3.2mm and 4.0mm, in addition there is also a setting that gives the option for a manual custom input.
The third button allows you to switch between amperage control, hot start and arc force.
Furthermore, the potentiometer controlled dial provides a smooth and accurate means of setting your required amperage.
Finally the last button you will notice (4th from the left) lets you switch between the machine controls or a separate wired/wireless remote control which is available as an additional accessory.
SYNERGIC SET UP
The front panel allows the user to select the electrode diameter being used. The machine will then default to a set amperage which is deemed appropriate for the welding rod size. The knob can be used to increase or decrease the amperage within a set range for the electrode size selected.
Rather not use this? No problem – select the dotted parameter and the machine can be used fully manually.
